Our second, and last, day we spent seeing the homes in Nauvoo. We started with the Joseph Smith Historic Site tour which includes his homestead (1st home), Nauvoo Hotel, mansion home (2nd home; lived in it for few months before his death), Smith Family Cemetery where he, Hyrum, Emma and his parents along with other family are buried, and the Red Brick Store where the RS was organized. Unfortunately, they don't allow picture taking inside the homes and the tour, which is 2 hours long, went by too fast to take pictures outside. Picture taking was allowed in the Red Brick store. These sites are all owed by the Community of Christ, formerly the RLDS, because the properties were in the Smith Family. We then saw other homes and sites as well as the Nauvoo Visitor Center all owed by the church.
Overall, we had a great time and look forward to going back, probably when our kids are old enough. With the time we had and Ashley, we did not see everything so there is one reason to go back.
